My experience with the Windows 10 May 2020 Update

Could you define “TON of problems” and elaborate on “crippling a lot of PCs”, as I can’t find any justification for either statement on your site?
That’s the point. We’re trying to figure out the truth and separate that from anecdotal evidence. What is your experience with the update?
My experience is no unexpected issues.
My point was, how do you come up with headlines like those I quoted with zero evidence?
I use Google and read tons of articles like this – https://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2020/05/30/microsoft-windows-10-2004-may-2020-update-free-windows-10-update/
There you go again with the “tons”!
Gordon Kelly writes clickbait nonsense.
So where are the “lots of crippled PCs”?
Forbes? They are the National Enquirer of tech news.
3 Laptops updated to 2004
Asus install OK later error when trying to install intel display pilot update
lenovo ; no invite to update 2004 – joined insider slow – installed OK
home made : installed oK no problem
one minor problem. My wireless connection does not always come back online when the laptop comes out of sleep mode.
It’s annoying but far less awful that reverting back to V1909
It would seem that somehow they released a version of Windows 10.0.19041.274.
It has the same issues it had when it got on the insider 4 months ago.minor issues on seen things like the DISM Tool, optimization, this are just a few of 15-18 corruptions.
I was told do not upgrade just use it for a full install and the problems would go away, I am skeptical at this point to format my drive and so a clean install as Microsot is aware of most of the issues at hand..
Most of the problems I have had with the update is that about 25% of my programs from 3rd parties either would not run or crashed after starting to run. I waited 2 days and got updates that worked so I am happy with the update now.
That’s nuts! Glad you were able to recover!
Does anyone else have the same issue as me
(1) optimization shows Never Run each time you open it.
The DISM Only tool will only go to 84% and show no errors.
I heard other things but have not seen it in this PC, however it is a little sluggish but not bad.
Yes, everyone on version 2004 has the optimization never run bug.
I don’t think the DISM 84% is a problem. What does /scanhealth say?
The update has gone unnoticed among the six to seven Windows 10 PCs in our family. It updated smoothly and I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.
That’s great news!
“Had some problems = have some problems”. I’d prefer “It’s great”, but not my luck. With ver. 1903, I developed momentary cursor/keyboard freezes. I hoped updates was .the cure. Sadly, no cures and Ver. 2004 brought a new present, the blue screen of death – “stopcode nvlddmkm.sys.”
My system & equipment was new in 2012: Windows 10 Pro 64bit, ver. 2004 build 19041.264, 3.07ghz Intel i7 950, ASUS MB Sabertooth x58, 24GB RAM, Samsung 500GB SSD & 1TB WD Data drive. I have 175 programs installed according to “Programs & Features”.
Any suggestions where to start or look to repair both concerns?
After several days worth of trials and troubleshooting, cussing and learning, the blue screen has not reappeared, the freezes appear to be cured and Windows 10 updates are up to date. Plus, Windows 10 is as fast as ever before. I would change my vote to “It’s great” but do not want to jink myself. Goodbye.
