History of Slot Games

History of Slot Games

So, you are a game lover, and slot games are some sort of games after all. They might offer a bit less excitement when you look at the gameplay of the modern games, all the graphics and action that is happening there, but they can offer something different that no other games have – money.

Slots offer thrill, excitement, adrenaline flow and entertainment through different ways. They are on the market for more than a century and they are here for that long for a reason.

Ever since 1887, in San Francisco California, US, where the very first slot machine was invented by Charles Fey, the slots are only growing bigger, getting better and spreading to more and more places across the world. It had three reels and five symbols: Horseshoe, Diamond, Spade, Heart and a Bell, which was actually the Liberty’s Bell – hence the name of the machine.

The idea that Charles Fey had was to make the calculations of the previous similar games more approachable and easier since they were using five drums, and the paylines were strange (something similar to what the current, modern slot games are). Soon after the major success, the “Bell” machine was banned from usage, but many manufacturers followed the plan that Fey had and made copies of the machine, spreading it throughout America and being the herald of the upcoming slot revolution.

The first major step was in 1963 when Bally developed the very first fully electromechanical slot machine which was named Money Honey.  It was the first machine that could operate and pay out a cash up to 50 coins without the help of an operator. This machine was the push and drive that was missing in the slot machines, and eventually, the market becomes larger, more and more players wanted to see the magic of the slot machine itself, and more money begins to leak in the gambling community.

The next major breakthrough in the slots world was the video slot (electronic slot) which was only 13 years later, in 1976. These are the slots that are available today, and it was developed by N. Cerracchio, R. Greene, W. Beckman, J. Reukes, and L. Black for the Fortune Coin company. It was based in Las Vegas, NV, and it is explainable why the city is called the city of light, as the whole town, and later on was overwhelmed with ground and video slot machines.

These days, you can see many online casinos and sites that offer perfect gaming and gambling atmosphere and user-friendly interface, as well as customer services available 24/7. Video Games with Amazing Secrets in Them

Video Games with Amazing Secrets in Them

Video game developers have always had interesting thoughts when developing video games. They always wanted to make the gaming experience of the players a little more interesting than what the game could offer, so they would often hide codes, secrets, initials, pictures, words or what else not inside some hardly reached areas. It was popular in the past, and it is popular now, but nowadays with the internet and gaming forums, people talk with each other, share tips, hints, and easily crack the secrets. What used to be a pain in the neck in the past to find is more available now as the days pass by, but some developers took it a little further and are playing hard to get.

We have come up with several examples where secret games, Secret Slots, and mysterious “Easter Eggs” (As The developers are calling these hidden secrets and codes) that you should see, and that was revealed later, after so many years.

Donkey Kong

Developer’s initials are one of the most common secret codes that were found in the games. Some of them were cracked within days, if not hours, and the developers made them easy and available for most of the players, but Donkey Kong’s developer had a different idea in his head.

After more than 26 years, his initials were first cracked after using an Atari 400 home computer. We are now familiar that you can get Landon Dyer’s Initials to appear on the title screen after dying with a certain high score, losing the last life by falling damage, and starting a new game while setting it to the 4th difficulty. How’s that for secret code?

Batman: Arkham Asylum

In the first Batman game by Rocksteady, there was a secret not discovered for three years. This is strange for a modern game to hide a secret this long due to the forums and the communication of the gaming industry.

In this game, there was a secret room with a person called the Calendar Man In it. He would drop some hints about the next game in the series, Batman: Arkham Knight, but the date of your console has to be the same as the date Rocksteady was formed. Good job whoever figured this out!

Splinter Cell

A game developed in 2006 had an interesting ending regarding its secret – one of the developers was so frustrated that no one could crack his secret that he mentioned it publicly in 2010. This is no surprise, as the players had to use several vending machines in different order, perform bizarre tasks, and eventually, five talking seals will appear where you need to rescue them. You would need to make romance with one of them.

Halo 3

Seven years after releasing the game in 2007, developer Adrian Perez mentioned that there is a secret in the loading screen. Players from all over the world wanted to discover it, and finally, someone cracked the secret.

Set the date to 25th of December, and depress both thumb sticks while loading – a new screen saying “Happy Birthday Lauren” will appear, which was a gift from the developer to his wife.

Cats and the Internet

Cats and the Internet

Without a doubt, one of the most searched sites, desired animals, viewed videos, and praised creatures on the internet are the cats. How did an animal that has no intention of returning the love that we as humans give to it, conquered the social media like it does now? Why do we give so much attention to these fluffy creatures when our love is unrequited?

Ever since cats decided to abandon their domestic lands in the Near East and Egypt around 15,000 years ago and went on a journey to conquer the world, they managed to get inside the hearts of people and stick there. Traveling alongside farmers, mariners and even Vikings, the cats managed to spread through Europe and Asia, slowly taking over the world, reaching to America and South Africa, before outnumbering dogs in the world by 75 million. Now, they managed to do it on a different “platform” as well – the internet.

As we are aware, the social media nowadays is filled with animals and their cuteness, performing their skills and showing off in every way. With the popular Memes being the obvious sign of who is ruling the world, cats hold the largest section of it. Many animals have tried, managed to reach the top, most viewed sections of the sites, but were simply smashed by cats and their interesting pictures and acts.

But memes are the least of our “problems”, as cats have gone deeper into our habits. There are people fostering more than 100 cats, opening centres for them, hanging pictures on the walls. Bands play music where cats are the centre point, game producers are creating more and more games where cats are the main inspiration. You can see one of the best slot games on the market called Kitty Glitter is actually inspired by cats and their shininess.

Another famous cat icon is Hello Kitty, who managed to take over many online and land based markets at a quick pace, from games, toys, shops for clothes and you name what else. With the same speed, kit kat overflowed the sweets market and supplies chocolates, cake, and other various tasty and satisfying goods all over the world. They all revolve around cats and use them as their muse and inspiration, with almost certain positive results from the people all over the world.

Yet, the question is still unanswered – Why does the internet love cats so much?

Unlike dogs, which enjoy living with humans, wish they participate in every action, every situation and want to be part of our lives and share the joy, our most beloved animals offer almost no communications with us. You can only see them sharing a mutual interest and interacting with other members of their species in certain situations when they fight or mate. Why are they so attractive to us? Is the cuteness of their fur, elegance while walking, the position and size of their big eyes or something further, unexplained? Maybe ancient Egyptians knew more than we know now, as they praised them as gods? Hopefully, we will find out soon, and unravel this mystery of cats taking over the online world.
